Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, Small size, Promised battery life
720p screen, Fibreglass rather than metal body

On-board flash, operation simplifying Live Guide, the E-PL1 offers the cheapest entry point to date into the Pen camera range
Plastic construction where the E-P1 and E-P2 offered steel, pared down ISO and LCD
The XZ-1 is in effect a Micro Four Thirds E-PL2 “lite”, smaller, lighter, sharing many features but omitting the ability to swap the lens on the front. But why would you want to anyway when it’s as good as the one provided?...
Fastest optical zoom lens on the market / Excellentquality lens, Fast autofocus in most situations, Very nice screen (apart from the smear), Good choice of automatic and manual settings, Compact design, good build quality
Image smoothing too pronounced at 800 ISO, No stereo sound in video mode, No button to save the exposure setting, no customisable button, Limited battery life (well under 200 shots), The stabilisation system could be better
The Olympus XZ-1 is another expert compact that could have got five stars if it had a better video mode. For those of you who aren't bothered about video, the XZ-1 is an excellent camera that's compact enough to take wherever you go, since it fits easi...

The Olympus XZ-1 is nicely designed with a solid user interface and very good performance for its cohort
The XZ-1's image quality is good, but even shooting raw it's not quite up to the level of its better competitors
Enjoyable to shoot and relatively fast, the Olympus XZ-1 only stumbles when it comes to photo quality, which is very good, but not uniformly excellent as one would expect from this class of camera....
Slight lens distortion, Could use some control tweaks
If you want to have fun while taking photos, then the Olympus XZ-1 is for you. It's easy to use, takes clear and rich images, and it even has useful art filters. We really like it and think it's great for novices photographers as well as pros...

Like: Image quality is excellent, but only when shooting RAW. Jpegs are degraded by the noise reduction, which cannot be turned off. Even at low ISO speeds fine detail is smudged by the NR system. The aggressive NR is a mystery because this is not an inhe
Dislike: The omission of an optical viewfinder puts it behind the Canon G12 and Nikon P7000, but on a par with the Panasonic LX5. The optional EVF is expensive
Zusammenfassung: The non-interchangeable lens in the new camera is the first Olympus compact digital camera lens to feature the company's Zuiko brand, indicating superior imaging performance. Covering focal lengths from 6mm to 24mm (28-112mm in 35mm film format), it has m...
Zusammenfassung: In the wake of seeing Canon’s S100, we suspected that the compact shooter would be a tough act to follow. However, Olympus’ XZ-1 proves to be a camera to be reckoned with, offering a truckload of features in a solid body while being a pleasure to use. ...
Convenient USB charging, Wireless control over flashes, Good Art filters, AF illuminator good for low light conditions, Overall good ISO capability
Video less vivid than stills, Lens is prone to flare in bright light, Absence of direct controls to White Balance or ISO, Lack of control for adjusting noise level
It is indeed right that the all new Olympus XZ-1, is a late entry in the relatively full compact camera segment, yet the device has managed to grab the attention of the people. The compact digital camera segment is considered to be a market of the keen ph...
