  • Return to more pocket-friendly form factor; accelerometer makes small screen more useful; speedy Cover Flow navigation
  • Requires upgrading to resource-hogging iTunes 8; audio recording requires additional Apple purchase; Genius feature needs education

  • Zusammenfassung:  So where else could Apple take the Nano? I think it’s obvious that the iPod Classic with its big hard drive is eventually going to go the way of the dinosaur. Maybe Apple could expand the screen to 2.5-inches along with maybe 32 to 64GBs of flash storage?.

  • Slim and curvy design, Very good sound, Accelerometer enhances many features, Sharp and bright screen
  • Average battery life, No wireless feature
  • While the $149 iPod nano 4G doesn’t incorporate wireless features like the similarly priced, flash-based Zune, it has a more compelling design. We like the accelerometer and the Genius feature; iTunes is an easier service to use in regard to pricing...

  • So, should you get the 4G iPod nano? Probably. If you have an older 1G or 2G nano, you should upgrade, if only for the improved screen, increased storage capacity and better battery life. Some 3G nano owners may not want to upgrade, particularly i...

  • Zusammenfassung:  Apple has a knack for manufacturing hype and consumer interest for their iPod lines. With multiple iterations debuting annually, it has become increasingly hard to determine just how much necessity there really is for the latest and arguably greatest i...

  • Zusammenfassung:  The new iPod nano has added some compelling features, writes reviewer Chris Maxcer. The aluminum frame is incredibly thin but also has a nice solid feel, and the screen plays back video with great clarity. The accelerometer -- a feature familiar to use...

  • Accelerometer enhances interface and games, Extremely thin design and lots of color choices, Very good AV quality, Useful new features like Genius, adjustable font size, and spoken menus
  • No wireless features, No custom EQ, Mediocre battery life, *
  • Overall, were pretty satisfied with the new nano, even though its nowhere near as sexy as the newly revamped iPod touch. And on a small, dedicated audio player thats focused on slim design and pocketability, we dont feel too slighted that the nano ...

  • Triumphant return to the stick design, hooray!, Support for new headphones with clicker and/or iPhone headphones, New features make it the best click-wheel iPod yet (shake to shuffle, Genius playlists, accelerometer)
  • Apple is hitting a dead end with UI innovation for these things, Many games made for click-wheel iPods dont make use of the accelerometer, and therefore suck (but some do!)
  • As an Apple-made portable media device, the 4G iPod nano is quite solid—surprisingly so, given the fact that half the world has already moved on to the iPhone and iPod touch. But the new nano gives potential buyers—including many of our own re...

  • Most capacious nano yet; more features than the iPod classic; Genius feature works directly on iPod; better-than-estimated battery life; Spoken Menus and larger menu fonts improve accessibility; improved interface with optional preview panel; audio-crossf...
  • iderably under-hyped is the 4G nano’s new Spoken Menus feature, which actually “reads aloud” as you browse the iPod’s menus, offering nearly-complete navigation even if you can’t see the iPod’s screen. Designed to incre...
  • Aesthetic changes aside, the fourth-generation iPod nano isn’t the dramatic overhaul last year’s nano was. If you’ve already got a 3G nano, the 4G model’s new features may not be compelling enough to get you to upgrade—especi...
